Masterpieces

Masterpieces are combinations of Colors, Palettes, Styles, and/or Supplies that earn extra reward banners and recognition for being awesome. Aside from the named ones below, you also get a banner for every 100 pieces posted.

Complete eight, sixteen, twenty-four, thirty-two, forty-eight, sixty-four, seventy-two, ninety-six, one hundred and twenty, one hundred and fifty-two, one hundred and sixty-eight, or two hundred and eight colors; each of these milestones earns a banner

Use a Canvas, a Frame, three of the daily or weekly Supplies, eight Seed Beads, two Erasers, two Charcoals, and create two Portraits, four Miniatures, and a Collage, and complete three Colors.

diorama

Use five Calendars Pages, two Chalks, an Eraser, two Nubs, a Palette Knife, five Stickers, and a Thread, and create three Postcards, two Miniatures, two Sketches, and two Photographs, and complete three metallics.

junk drawer

Use five of the daily or weekly supplies, a Wood, three Novelty Beads, a Canvas, two Frames, four Dice, and a Gift Wrap, and create a Collage, an Interactive Art, a Retouch, two Photographs, two Sculptures, a Cut-away, and two Cartographies, and complete a metallic.

assemblage

Use three Brushes, two Modeling Clays, and create ten Miniatures, a Miniature Collection or Pointillism, and complete four Colors with ten prompts.

minimalist

Use an Acrylic, a Watercolor, an Oil, a Charcoal, a Pastel, a Canvas, a Frame, five Brushes, two Palette Knives, a Chalk, and create two Tapestries, a Mural or Portrait, and two Saturations, and complete ten Colors with 25 prompts or 30 prompts.

maximalist

Use ten different Supplies or Styles at least once. This upgrades to Supply Box.

sampler

Use twenty different Supplies or Styles at least once. This upgrades to The Stash.

Use thirty different Supplies or Styles at least once.

Use fifteen different Supplies at least twice. This upgrades to Craft Store.

Complete five of the following Palettes: Pretty In Pink, Got The Blues, Green with Envy, Red Letter Day, Yellow Belly, Purple Prose, Black Tie, White Elephant, Gray Matter, Quick Brown Fox, Orange Zest, Neon Lights, or Metalhead.

Use an Acrylic, a Chalk, a Modeling Clay, three Fabrics, two Feathers, three Seed Beads or Novelty Beads, two Glitters, two Glues, and three Threads, and create three Sketches, two Photographs, an Embroidery, and complete Costume Jewelry.

cosplay

Use two Acrylics, four Stickers, and create three Graffiti, a Performing Art or Mixed Media, a Comic, and two Cut-Aways, and complete the palettes Neon Lights and CMYK.

pop art

Be the first to use a Supply, Style, or Color (including custom palettes created by mods for events).

prototype

Use an Oil, a Gesso, and a Pastel, and create five Life Drawings, two Chiaroscuros, two Panoramas, three Plein-airs, two Pointillisms, a Portrait, and a Diptych.

fine art

Use two Threads, three Colors of the Day, a Glitter, three Fabric, two Feathers, and a Gift Wrap, and create an Interactive Art, two Vaudevilles, a Reimagining, and a Performing Art.

theater kid

Use a Chalk, seven Stickers, two Modeling Clays, a Yarn, two Novelty Beads, two Glitter, three Glue, and create two Sketches, three Fingerpaintings, and a Folk Art.

kindergarten

Use a Yarn, a Glitter, two Fabrics, five Seed Beads, and two Beading Wires, and create two Stained Glass, a Pointillism, a Plein-air, two Chiaroscuros, two Photographs, and three Life Drawings, and complete a Color with the word light in it.

Use a Wood, five Charcoals, and five Colors of the Day, and create a Paint-by-Numbers, a Bichromatic, two Silhouettes, three Saturations, and two Pointillism.

Use two Erasers and three Nubs, and create a Comic, an Illustration, a Saturation, three Life Drawings, two Fingerpaintings, a Vaudeville, a Cartography, and a Panorama.

illustrator

Use two Parchment, a Calendar Page, a Nub, a Frame, a Resin, a Wood, and three Colors of the Day, and create a Sculpture, a Cartography, a Retouch, a Reimagining, a Diptych, a Triptych, and a Bichromatic, and complete a Palette that upgrades.

level up level-up

Use three Yarn and two Resin and create a Mixed Media, a Mobile, a Performing Art, and three Saturations.

hi tech high tech hi-tech

Use a Yarn, three Fabrics, three Chalks, two Nubs, and four Charcoals, and create a Tapestry, a Mosaic, four Folk Art, three Embroideries, and three Graffiti.

handicraft

Use 20 Dice, and a Parchment, and create three Cartographies, three Interactive Arts, and a Mural, and complete Color Spray, and one Mythology and Folklore themed color.

dungeon master

Once you've completed any of these you can request a banner or take one of the generic banners.

Questions & Answers

• Upper case of a color refers to the Color list, lower case refers to all shades of that color - they're tagged 'hue: (color)'. Colors and shades are linked appropriately.
• What counts as a daily or weekly supply? Daily supplies are: Calendar Page, Brush, Acrylics, Stain, Stickers, Fabric, Yarn, Feathers, Beading Wire, Glitter, and Glue. Weekly supplies are: Watercolors and Chalk. Depending on how often the source updates, a Palette Knife, Oil, or Modeling Clay may also be daily or weekly. Color of the Day is a color, not a supply, so doesn't count.
• Can I complete a Masterpiece multiple times? Yes, as long as none of the Colors are a repeat of the former time (unless you're doing a Retouch of that Color)
• Can I use the same piece multiple times for a Masterpiece? Yes. For example, for a Diorama, if you have a piece that's a Portrait, an Eraser, and a Charcoal, you can use it for all three requirements.
• Do Paint-by-Numbers, Bichromatics, and Tapestries count toward Color lists for Masterpieces? Absolutely, yes they do. Only Saturations don't count.
• What are the restrictions on Prototype? There isn't really one: basically if you're the first to use the tag (or request the tag in the case of Colors), you've earned it. So Saturations count for Colors for the Prototype accomplishment, as well as any other first use of the Color. You don't have to complete the Color to earn a Prototype.
• How does upgrading a Masterpiece work? Complete each one in turn and then you can go back to the beginning of the series. The same pieces are encouraged to be used for all of the upgrades. For example, you'd complete a Sampler with ten different Supplies or Styles, do ten more to complete Supply Box, and then ten more to complete The Stash. Then you'd go back to the beginning and start with Sampler again.
• To upgrade Craft Room/Craft Store or Portfolio/Art Studio, the number of times you need to use a supply or style (respectively) increases by two with each run through and both levels need to be completed. For example, the first time you do Craft Room and Craft Store, you need to use the supplies twice. Then you need to use 15 supplies four times for a second Craft Room and 25 supplies four times for a second Craft Store, before you can earn a third Craft Room for using 15 supplies six times.

• Can I suggest Masterpieces? Yes, post about it in rainbowlounge. However we currently have 30 Masterpieces and many of them have never been earned yet, so it'll have to be a really good suggestion. Masterpieces should require between 15 and 30 supplies, styles, and/or colors.
