Theme: Literary

1. All Prophecies come true. This is a Rule.
2. Rings are as dangerously magical as Swords.
3. Ambushes will be of four kinds, and you will have them all.
4. Armour is, in the opinion of the Management, cheating.
5. History is generally patchy and unreliable.
6. Legends are an important source of true information.
7. Food: see Stew, Scurvy, Waybread, and Stew.
8. The Management takes the very reasonable view that no one is going to wear something just because it is pretty.
9. Good means anything and everything on your side.
10. Government: most average folk seem to get on perfectly well without any of it.
11. Undo nothing. You could freeze to death.
12. You should not be able to travel more than fifty miles without something happening.
13. Weather is always wrong for what you are doing at the time.
14. Music is very important, always Good, and probably Magic, especially if played on a Harp.
15. Underwear is optional and largely non-existent.
16. Spells can do almost anything.
17. Be wary of Runes, even if they appear to say only ‘Made in Gna’ash.’.
18. Poison is in use a lot.
19. Dragons can, if they want, eat people.
20. Justice does not exist as such.
21. Almost 20% of taverns harbour an Assassin with a contract on you.
22. Remarkably few people stay dead when killed.
23. Underground passages are usually there when you need them.
24. The dead are often as literal-minded as computers.
25. Until you have saved the world with one leg or your soul missing you do not know what hardship is.
